Our work method lies within the framework of solidary economy

We produce a portion of products we sell: innovative products whose technique is not controlled by craf groups.The other part, we buy it to the groups that we have chosen for their competence and quality of  their products.We are ensuring basic rules, for example the "one way flow", wearing dress, personal hygiene...

We are part of fair trade and solidarity economy to solve the problem of oppotunities that group collector and processing are meeting. This allows them to significantly improve their incomes and perpetuate their business.

Our objectives are to:

• Provide our customers with senegalese foodstuffs and cosmetic products of high quality
  
• Figtht against poverty by creating employment and wealth in rural and urban areas
  
• Improve the status of women by recognising and valuing their job
  
• Promote the emmergence of a label of fair trade in Africa (www.commerceequitablesenegal.org)
  

We established a charter of quality and ethics to make clear our commitments:

Baobab des saveurs'quality and ethics charter

Preambule: : Baobab des saveurs chose to draft a charter of quality and ethics for transparency with its customers and suppliers to formalise the commitments that underlie its approach.

I – Quality

1 – All foodstuffs sold by Baobab des saveurs  have first obtained marketing authorisation given by the direction of control (Senegalese ministry of trade).

2 –  Baobab des saveurs chooses  the products that it sells according to their hygienic  and organoleptic quality (taste, smell, texture, colour...)

3 – Baobab des saveurs sets up a traceability of products (following the products from raw materials to final products)

4 – Baobab des saveurs selected  women processing groups and reserves the right to supervise in some circumstances or unannounced visits to check the conditions of production and packaging of product.

5 – Any suspect production is immediately withdrawn from sale and given to the service of hygiene quality for its destroy .

II – Ethics

1 – Baobab des saveurs is part of  South-South and North-South fair trade.

2 – Baobab des saveurs helps to correct the imbalance between the exports and imports balance of Senegal by exporting,tradittional foodstuffs and cosmetic products to  the northern countries.

3 – Baobab des saveurs ensures the transparency of the  production by providing the coordinates  of women producers'group.

4 – Baobab des saveurs supports women groups producers close to NGOs in Senegal for strengthening their capacities.
